So…for the last 3 days I’ve been stuck on the train of thought I had the other day…following Michael Bublé on tour around the world this summer! I’m all about finding a new career these days and am tossing up ideas about a career in music! Have ALWAYS loved music but don’t have much talent haha! I’m one of those people that sings the harmonies in a pop song and picks on the lyrics of songs when they are grammatically incorrect (see lyrics to All I Have To Give by the BSB). Love to sing along in the car, in the shower, at my desk but don’t think I could ever get anyone to pay me to do it. But, I’ve always thought of doing something in music and have started exploring the options lately! I like the idea of Artist Relations but am stuck on how to get into that. Don’t know if there is a college or university program out there that I could take that would help increase my chances!

Also, thought about just packing up and heading to Toronto and finding a job up there somewhere to get by and then really start the hunt for a music industry job. The Juno Awards made the music industry seem so glamorous (I know all of those people worked super hard to get there) and all of the celebs that I met were so nice.

Not sure what the solution is, but stay tuned for when I make the decision on what I’m doing!

Super prayers going out to Bret Michaels as he struggles with some medical issues Don’t want to hear that another rock star passes away!

Back to my dreams about Michael Bublé…ahahahaha! So, I just thought it would be super amazing to be able to follow him around on tour and show people how a tour works: what the artist does before, during and after a show, what happens at the soundcheck, and all that fun inside scoop! Plus, getting to travel all over the world at the same time would be a pretty cool experience! Ah, a woman can always dream…. sigh*

Wow, it’s been a while since I put anything down here! Ok, won’t waste any time and will get right to it. The last week as been CRAZY busy with Ruckus on the Edge events and then Juno weekend! Last Wednesday, I volunteered to work at a Ruckus Info Booth at the Delta Hotel to help answer celebs questions about St. John’s, Ruckus events, Juno events, etc. It was a long day but met some great fellow volunteers and saw Jian Ghomeshi, Amelia Curran (who won for Roots and Traditional Album), and Ron Hynes (not that this guy is anything worth seeing).

Next came the weekend! All kinds of crappy weather led to major delays in getting artists on the Rock so some performances had to be cancelled or rescheduled. Was elated when I saw a tweet saying Michael Buble had actually arrived! Anyway, went downtown to George St. on Friday night and watched Jerry Stamp perform at Greensleeves and The Navigators perform at Shamrock City. The music was great but it was a fairly early night (1 am) and would have like to hit up a dance club for a while. Saturday night, try as I might, no one wanted to go dt for the second night in a row so I wound up at a friend’s place watching Diner de Cons, a hilarious French movie!

Sunday…well, it was Juno day! I actually felt sick when I woke up because I was so excited at what would happen later in the day. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but I definitely got more than I bargained for! I was a seat filler at the awards show and as such, got to sit next to Jim, Ed and Tyler from the Barenaked Ladies, filled a seat for Jon Montgomery and got to watch Drake, Justin Bieber, Jully Black, Luther Brown, April Wine, Hedley, K’Naan and a whole bunch of others walk right past me to accept and/or present awards. I was literally 5 ft from them. Everyone I sat next to was very friendly and all the other seat fillers were great, except for one woman who claimed to be a music promoter. While standing in line together, we started talking about Michael Buble (LOVE him) as he was singing the opening number for the show and then accepted his first award. During his acceptance speech, he claimed to be nervous and the woman next to me (the “promoter”) pointed out that he was not so much nervous as high from the coke he would have put up his nose before the awards!

Ok, so I’m not naive enough to think this doesn’t happen ALL the time in the entertainment business but I would think she’d be a little bit more professional than to start that rumor mill! After all, the guy randomly handed out two tickets to the awards show while he was on the red carpet and the lucky woman who received them looked like she was going to pass out from the shock! Also, he thanked his Grandpa and his “fiancee Lou” in his other speeches…again, can’t be that bad. Heard he was supposed to play a private party at Bianca’s but that was cancelled when word of volcanic ash over NL erupted and everyone started running to the airport to get out of Dodge!

Other Juno info, saw a bunch of people we knew were famous but had no idea who they were…made me feel like a terrible Canadian to be so clueless about Canadian music. Once the show was over, I was sooo excited, I wanted to hit George St. again but once again, friends didn’t come through so just headed home. I had given my sister tickets to the red carpet pre-show and she managed to get MB’s autograph on my CD cover! She also got some pretty great pictures of him too. Have I mentioned yet that I love him? His songs are great, he wears the sh*t out of a suit, his awkward nervousness seems genuine and he’s just super cute! Dream boat! Needless to say, all of the excitement has had me on quite the high! Monday and Tuesday were dedicated to getting sleep and calming down before I started this post. I have now decided I want to work in the music industry and get to go to all kinds of concerts, etc. I want to be one of those people that has all kinds of connections! Just gotta figure out the best way to get into it!

In non-Junos news, Monday night was Date Night with Jack Bauer and while his scenes at the hospital next to a deceased Renee were very moving, the rest of the episode was kind of underwhelming. Jack needs to avenge Renee’s death and Prez Taylor is trying to sign a peace agreement with the Russians, who were the cause of all of the day’s problems and tried to PREVENT the treaty from going ahead. How can it be good to have them agree to the treaty when they don’t want a part of it. Can only end in disaster. However, Jack will be there, like old reliable, to save the day. Hope next week’s episode is better!

Ciao for now!

Ok, most people date during the weekend but I have a recurring date night on Monday nights. Every week, I spend an hour with Chuck Bass and an hour with Jack Bauer. Two dates, two different guys, very nice night. I don’t watch a whole lot of TV but during two hours every Monday night, I barricade myself in a room with a TV and devote myself entirely to NYC. I don’t even watch the shows with anyone else; I don’t like sharing my dates! Both shows this week were great! First, there’s Gossip Girl where Serena and Nate are finally hooking up and Chuck is soon going to learn his mother didn’t die. Next, there’s another intense hour of 24 which (as always) left me wanting more. I won’t spoil the surprise; just watch it yourself! The episode ended with me wanting to marry Jack (this, too, is also a weekly recurrence)…

Now, onto the Oscars! What did I think? Honestly, I don’t know. I didn’t see most of the films that were nominated but I gave my picks in each categeory in an effort to win a new Balenciaga bag…I got 13 of 24 right. Needless to say, no Balenciaga is on its way to my house For me, the biggest story of the night was the fashion! Some disasters, some beauties and some in-betweens.

Loves: blue color of Mo’Nique’s dress, Sandra Bullock’s silver number, Penelope Cruz’s dress (most people don’t like it but I thought it was gorgeous), Carey Mulligan’s black dress (loved the shoes that went with it as well), Jake Gyllenhaal (he needs to hook up with Rachel McAdams already, next hottest couple), Queen Latifah’s dress was FAB, Demi Moore was stunning in Versace, Cameron Diaz was glamorous and Elizabeth Banks was beautiful in blue.

Hates: Vera Farmiga’s monstrosity was a beautiful rich raspberry color but the ruffle things were tragic, Sarah Jessica Parker is usually on the cutting edge of fashion but looked like she was wearing a yellow potato sack, Maggie Gyllenhaal was dressed for a summer dinner party, Anna Kendrick wore a dress that was too pale for her, James Cameron’s wife Suzy Amis looked anorexic in blue, Mariah Carey’s dress was a beautiful color but as usual, her chest was flowing out of the dress.

In-betweens: Kristen Stewart – her dress was beautiful and very feminine but her awkwardness and fidgeting made her look less feminine, J. Lo was pretty in pink but I didn’t think she was stunning; the black dress she wore to the after parties was much nicer, Zoe Saldana – hmm, on the fence about this one…liked the color pattern on the dress but didn’t need the pom-pom looking puffs at the bottom.

As for the men, well, Jake Gyllenhaal is adorable, Ryan Reynolds is super cute and Zac Efron is still a douche who tries way too hard. George Clooney’s hair was hideous…I like my George with a decent haircut and no facial hair…what is his gf trying to do to him?! I know she’s European but she also seems like a stuck-up snob too, ugh!

One of my fave moments was Michelle Pfeiffer’s speech; I laughed at the number of times Jeff Bridges said “man” in his acceptance speech. As usual, the tributes made me cry. I was dismayed, however, that the memorial tribute didn’t include Farrah Fawcett or Bea Arthur. Not sure what happened there but there were tons of people on that list that I’d never heard of before so I’m sure they could have managed to put two extra people in there…

Anyway, Lost is about to come on and with only 10 episodes left, I can’t afford to miss them because I need answers!

With just over a month before the big night, Junos fever has hit St. John’s! All 3000 tickets sold out in 14 minutes flat today and of course, I wasn’t one of the chosen few who will be up close and personal with the likes of Michael Buble on April 18th. This makes me sad because I have recently become smitten with all things Hollywood, leaving me “Hollywooed”.

So, why bother reading my blog? Well, because of a recent career change, I have had more time to peruse the Internet during the run of a day and I’ve noticed the overwhelming number of celebrity gossip sites online. A daily dose of celeb smut has boosted my spirits on even the worst of days (and you’re lying to yourself right now if you think you’ve never enjoyed hearing a “bit o’ goss”). It’s always entertaining to see how the other half lives, even if the rest of us aren’t quite as famous, glamorous and rich. Sometimes I laugh at them, other times I am in awe of them…my relationship with celebrity is fickle but it’s a great escape for someone who always dreamed of being a part of the inner circle in Hollywood.

Moral of the story is this: check back often to see my take on current celebrity gossip. Here’s a sneak peek of what you can expect:

The whole K-Stew and R-Pattz thing: Sooo very over this…everyone knows they are together and just trying to keep it low-key. If they were able to be out of hiding, they’d actually be kinda cute except for the fact that Twilight fans are looking at it as the real life Bella and Edward. Sure, Robert can definitely be very attractive (he’s not always – hate on me all you want!) but he doesn’t sparkle or make a habit of biting people. That’s a good thing too, because if he did, people would think he’s nuts.

She pulls off the rocker chick thing with elegance and he has the whole “I’m so awkward but it makes me endearing” thing down to a science. They both seem to hate all the attention but, as you’ll hear me say more than once, why did they ever get involved in the industry if they weren’t hoping to attract some mega attention some day? No actor goes to Hollywood hoping to never make it off the D list, seriously.

The O.C. (The Orange Celeb): I’m not big on beauty do’s and dont’s but the one thing I can’t handle is the overtanning. With most celebs either living or vacation in sunny climates, I can’t understand for the life of me the need for the fake tan. You’re an A list celebrity making at least $10 mil per movie so you can afford to go to Mexico or Brazil in the middle of winter and get a natural tan. Why oh why must you insist on paying your $40 bucks a month to look orange?!

When I had my high school graduation pictures done a million years ago, they caked our faces with makeup and I wound up looking orange. I was horrified when they announced those pictures would be posted in the school hall for many years to come. If you want to look orange, just buy a $20 bottle of the wrong foundation. If you want a nice golden tan without looking leathery, spend the money to go on vacation. Lord knows, you should be able to afford it…

Tune in on Monday for my take on the weekend goss!
